Travel Awards: Hollywood Style

Turks and Caicos put on its best Hollywood-style ‘do’ last week when it hosted the Annual World Travel Awards, which is likened to the travel industry’s version of the Academy Awards. Indeed, there was no shortage of tuxedos and fashion gowns among the 300+ attendees, who witnessed a variety of awards bestowed upon destinations and tourism related services worldwide.

The Turks and Caicos came away with two of the coveted “World’s Leading..” awards, and a host of top finishes in the Caribbean region sub-category. Our famous white sand beaches once again won us the distinction of being named the World’s Leading Beach. And, our friends at Beaches Resort & Spa took home top honors in the category for World’s Leading Family Resort. More evidence that, as World Travel Awards founder and president Graham Cooke aptly put it, ‘”the Turks & Caicos are a shining beacon for the global tourism industry. They have grown into one of the most sought after luxury travel destinations worldwide.”
