The Turks & Caicos Islands defended its title of “World’s Leading Beach,” garnering top honors in that prestigious category at the recent World Travel Awards, considered by most travel experts to be the Academy Awards of travel. The TCI was once again cited for its miles of pristine, white sand beaches that rim our islands, particularly the popular Grace Bay Beach stretch on Providenciales (true island insiders know that that same beach can be found on all our islands, from remote West Caicos to the shores of Grand Turk and every where in between.)

The World Travel Awards were hosted at Beaches Resort and Spa here in Turks & Caicos, with a gala ceremony featuring top quality entertainment and attracting worldwide media attention. The host property also took home top honors in the Family Vacation category.

The World Travel Awards also honored a host of other travel related suppliers and destinations, including the world’s top airlines, spas, hotels , cruise ships and travel agencies. For a complete review of the 2007 Awards, go to their web site at: www.worldtravelawards.com
