PROVIDENCIALES, TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS (Tuesday July 10, 2007) –  Singers, bands and top musicians from throughout the Turks & Caicos Islands will be adding an authentic rhythm when they hit the stage at the 2007 Turks & Caicos Music and Cultural Festival. Top TCI artists like Marblez, Marvin Handfield, Blakout, Julian Garland, Jack Nasty, and The Rake ‘n Scrap Band will be placing their own distinctive style and sound to add to the overall ambience of this year’s event.

“There is no better way to reinforce the cultural aspect of the Festival than by having some of the best of Turks & Caicos’s own performers on stage at this year’s Festival.” said Ralph Higgs, Director of Tourism Marketing for the Turks & Caicos Tourist Board.  “Artists like Barbara Johnson, Keno and Kaz, Sounds of Sax and the others have been entertaining crowds for years, and it is a great thrill for us to see them on the same stage with such international superstars like Alicia Keys, Kenny Rogers and John Legend.”

Other international artists performing at this year’s Festival include Michael Bolton, India.Arie, Freddie Jackson, T.I. and more, and when an incredible and diverse range of the best of Turks & Caicos performers are added, then it insures that this year’s Festival will be the best one ever.

The Honourable Wayne Garland, the Executive Chairman for the Tourist Board wants everyone to be sure to appreciate the music that comes from the Turks & Caicos. “Our Festival has an incredible lineup. But, it is only as strong as it is because of the musical talent that calls Turks & Caicos home. Our home-grown performers will deliver an impressive display of musical talent that will excite the crowd and is guaranteed to make us all proud.”
