It’s a Spa World, After All
28 October 2007

If you’re the type to skip the beach and head straight for the spa, there are new places to be pampered at Caribbean resorts.

The Half Moon (www.halfmoon.com) near Montego Bay, Jamaica, has converted a villa into a 68,000-square-foot, indoor-outdoor spa with nine treatment rooms, a yoga studio and a cafe. In high season, beginning in mid-December, double rooms start at $400 a night.

Next month, the Regent Palms at Grace Bay on Providenciales Island in the Turks and Caicos (www.regenthotels.com/thepalms) will complete an overhaul of its spa, above. Regent Hotels and Resorts, which took over the Palms last year, has redesigned the spa menu and added six treatment cottages in a garden area. In-season rooms from $595.

The all-inclusive Curtain Bluff resort (www.curtainbluff.com) on Antigua has opened its first stand-alone spa, with five treatment rooms and a 10-person whirlpool. Rates start at $950 a night for couples in season.
