PROVIDENCIALES, TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS (Thursday July 26, 2007) - Kenny Rogers, the legendary singer and songwriter, whose songs have sold over 100 million copies is genuinely excited to be in and to experience the Turks & Caicos Islands and performing at the Festival. He's had the date circled on his calendar for months and is looking forward to enjoying all that the TCI has to offer.

"You have no idea how excited I am to be coming to Turks & Caicos, visiting the islands and performing at the 2007 Turks & Caicos Music Festival" He added "I promise that it will truly be a great night for everyone that attends the Festival on Thursday, August 2nd!" His enthusiasm is more than a little contagious as all of the artists are eager to leave an indelible impression on the crowd that attends the Thursday night show.

The Honourable Wayne Garland, the Executive Chairman for the Tourist Board also relishes the good news that superstars are excited to be in the Turks & Caicos Islands. "When superstars like Kenny Rogers are excited about the TCI, then it really bodes well for the success of our tourism product". He added "Performers such as Kenny Rogers have performed everywhere in the world, but to have him proclaim his excitement for our islands, carries great weight in international travel circles. And, of course, we are very excited to host him during his stay here."

Now in its 4th year, the Annual Music and Cultural festival is seen as the largest and most popular entertainment event of the year in Turks and Caicos. The schedule of events centers around the annual Miss Turks & Caicos Beauty Pageant, The Little Miss Turks and Caicos Pageant and includes four nights of great live music and concerts, a boat regatta and other great cultural activities that make it a week long series of events that is sure to please even the most discerning tastes.

The 2007 Festival encompasses international superstars, great artists from Turks & Caicos, and musical legends from across the Caribbean. And, this year's Festival also includes a night of comedy with international comedians from across the world lightening everyone's spirits.

The Annual Music and Cultural Festival is put on by The Turks and Caicos Tourist Board and was first introduced in 2003 and now boasts a following of over 8,000 people. This year the event returns to breathtaking backdrop of the Turtle Cove Marina, in Providenciales. Tickets are $75 per night for Thursday through Sunday nights, with four day weekend passes available for only $275. This year the Festival is pleased to provide ample opportunities for youngsters to attend with special children's prices of only $10, but these special kids prices are only available at the gate on the day of performance. Tickets are $20 for Tuesday night's Little Miss Turks & Caicos festivities and $25 for Wednesday evening's presentation of the Miss Turks & Caicos Costume & Swimsuit competition.
